For a simple and effective way to aerate, cultivate and renovate a pasture, an aerator is a good option. Some machines use a straight blade which will punch a hole and aerate only. Other machines are fitted with twisted blades. These will aerate, create a tilth and relieve compaction as the ground will get a slight twist and lift as the machine passes over it. To penetrate more deeply, simply add more weight to the weight carrier on top of the machine.
