Dilute volume sprayer or Silvan Turbomiser?
The Turbomiser utilises the best air shear technology to achieve optimum spray coverage using less water.
Launched by Silvan in 1983 the Turbomiser has fast become the preferred sprayer for use in orchards, vineyards, nurseries and greenhouses.
Compared to “dilute volume sprayers” the Turbomiser low volume air shear sprayer can cover the exact same vegetative space and use a single tank of spray rather than 3 tanks used by dilute volume sprayers.
Atomisation of the spray liquid in a Silvan Turbomiser is achieved by introducing the water and chemical mixture into a very powerful air stream through a venture tube. The air stream then shears the liquid into a narrow range of droplets.
Turbomisers atomise the liquid and mix it with the current air so well that the droplets are carried into the more hidden areas of the plants. With a narrow droplet spectrum it is possible to double, triple or even quadruple the number of droplets per square centimetre of vegetative surface while using significantly less water than dilute sprayers. this also causes the droplets to stay on the vegetation instead of running off onto the soil which means you maximise the effect of your spray chemicals
To achieve complete coverage and thorough contact on the foliage, it is only necessary to replace the air in and around the plant with the air from the low volume sprayer. Since the air and spray are homogenous, when the air arrives, so does the chemical.
The Silvan Turbomiser “Low Volume” system significantly improves spraying time by its ability to apply chemicals at a faster ground speed, reducing the number of tank refills and the lost time spent travelling between fills. The time saved can be critically important in ensuring chemicals are applied to the crop at their optimum efficiency for pest and disease control.
